I offer individual therapy, also known as counseling, psychotherapy, or “talk therapy” to adults. Therapy can help with a wide range of mental health issues, emotional difficulties, and life challenges.
Therapy is collaborative, and its effectiveness depends to a great extent on the trusting, professional relationship that develops between the client and the therapist. My most important job as a therapist is to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for the work of therapy to take place. Sessions will initially be scheduled weekly and will last for 45-60 minutes.
Working together, you and I will develop mutually agreed-upon treatment goals. To facilitate movement and growth, I will draw upon various techniques and strategies to help you move toward achieving your goals.
My approach to working with people is tailored to each person’s unique needs. I have had training in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices. In my work with you, I will draw from different approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Person-Centered approaches, and others. I also utilize mindfulness in my sessions.
